Week 16 Revenge Games – Saturday

Everyone loves a good revenge game. Whether there’s bad blood between a player and a former team, or a beloved former franchise player returning home. I take a look at all that and any other player connections in the Saturday games of Week 16.

TexansTexans vs. BuccaneersBuccaneers, 1:00 PM EST

Texans CB Vernon Hargreaves – Hargreaves was drafted by the Buccaneers with the 11th overall pick of the 2016 draft. He showed promise early in his career, but dealt with injuries, playing in just 10 games combined the next two seasons. He started the first nine games this season for the Bucs before being waived due to “lack of hustle” on the field. Was claimed by the Texans in November and is growing into a nice role in a revived Houston secondary.

Texans P Bryan Anger – spent three seasons (2016 to 2018) as the Buccaneers punter

Buccaneers RB Dare Ogunbowale – entered the league as a Texans UDFA in 2017 and spent a month that season on their practice squad.

Texans OT Chris Clark – entered the league as a Buccaneers UDFA in 2008 but was released before the season

BillsBills vs. PatriotsPatriots, 4:30 PM EST

Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore – spent five seasons with the Bills after entering the league as the 10th overall pick in 2012. He then signed a massive five-year deal with the Patriots in 2017 and has become the best cornerback in the league.

Bills P Corey Bojorquez – entered the league as a Patriots UDFA in 2018, but was cut before the season. He was then claimed by the Bills.

Patriots OT Marshall Newhouse – played in three games before the Bills in September 2018 before being traded to the Panthers.

Bills TE Lee Smith – entered the league as a fifth-round pick of the Patriots in 2015. He was cut before the season before being claimed by the Bills where he spent four seasons. After his first tenure in Buffalo, he spent four seasons in Oakland before returning to Buffalo this offseason.

RamsRams vs. 49ers49ers, 8:15 PM EST

49ers G Mike Person – spent two seasons with the then St. Louis Rams after being claimed in September 2013. He didn’t see the field that season, but then played all 16 games in 2014 with zero starts.

Rams C Coleman Shelton – entered the league as a 49ers UDFA in 2018 but was cut before the season
