Week 16 Revenge Games – Sunday & Monday

Everyone loves a good revenge game. Whether there’s bad blood between a player and a former team, or a beloved former franchise player returning home. I take a look at all that and any other player connections in the Sunday and Monday games of Week 16.

SteelersSteelers vs. JetsJets, 1:00 PM EST

Jets RB Le’Veon Bell – spent five seasons playing for the Steelers, and one year sat out, from 2013 to 2018 after entering the league as a second-round pick. He had three seasons of 1,000-yard seasons with three Pro Bowls, two First-team and one Second-team All-Pros. After sitting out 2018 over a contract dispute, Bell signed a massive, multi-year contract with the Jets this offseason.

Jets OT Kelvin Beachum – entered the league as a seventh-round pick of the Steelers in 2012, where he spent four seasons as both a starter and backup. He then spent a year in Jacksonville before signing a three-year deal with the Jets in 2017.

Jets DT Steve McClendon – spent seven seasons with the Steelers from 2009 to 2015 after entering the league with the team as an undrafted free agent. He then signed with the Jets in 2016 and has been a leader in that defense.

RaidersRaiders vs. ChargersChargers, 4:05 PM EST

Raiders WR Tyrell Williams – spent four seasons with the Chargers after entering the league with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He had a 1,000-yard season in 2016 and became an important weapon in that offense as the second or third receiver. He then signed a multi-year deal with the Raiders this offseason.

SaintsSaints vs. TitansTitans, 1:00 PM EST

Titans S Kenny Vaccaro – spent five seasons with the Saints after entering the league as a first-round pick in 2013. After going unsigned for most of the 2018 offseason, he signed with the Titans just before the season, and has become their starting safety since, even earning a contract extension this offseason

Saints TE Jared Cook – entered the league as a third-round pick of the Titans in 2009 where he spent four seasons. Had stints with the Rams, Packers, and Raiders from 2013 to 2018 before signing with the Saints this offseason

CardinalsCardinals vs. SeahawksSeahawks, 4:25 PM EST

Cardinals G J.R. Sweezy – drafted by the Seahawks in the seventh-round in 2012, Sweezy started 49 games across four seasons in Seattle before signing in Tampa in 2016. He later returned to Seattle in 2018 and started 15 games. He signed with the Cardinals this offseason and has started every game at right guard.

Seahawks WR Jaron Brown – spent five seasons with the Cardinals after entering the league with them as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He signed with Seattle in 2018.

Cardinals DE Cassius Marsh – drafted by the Seahawks in the fourth round in 2014, where he spent three seasons before being traded to the Patriots before the 2017 season. He had a short stay in New England, being released that November and claimed by the 49ers. He later returned to Seattle this offseason before being released before the season. The next day, he signed with Arizona.

Seahawks G Mike Iupati – spent four seasons in Arizona after signing with the team in 2015. He then signed with the Seahawks on a one-year deal this offseason. He entered the league as a first-round pick of the 49ers in 2010.

Cardinals QB Brett Hundley – spent the 2018 season as Russell Wilson’s backup in Seattle after being traded by Packers before the season. He signed with Arizona this offseason.

Cardinals TE Darrell Daniels – spent most of the 2018 season with the Seahawks on both the active roster and practice squad after being traded from the Colts before the season. He was waived on November 2018 and claimed by the Cardinals.

GiantsGiants vs. RedskinsRedskins, 1:00 PM EST

Redskins S Landon Collins – spent four seasons with the Giants from 2015 to 2018 that featured three Pro Bowls and a first-team All-Pro. He then signed a massive six-year contract with the Redskins this offseason.

Redskins G Ereck Flowers – entered the league as the ninth overall selection in 2015 by the Giants, and became one of the most hated players in franchise history. He was a massive bust at tackle and was eventually released in October 2018. He spent the rest of the season with the Jaguars before signing with the Redskins in the offseason.

Redskins CB Coty Sensabaugh – spent most of the 2016 season with the Giants after being signed in October 2016.

ChiefsChiefs vs. BearsBears, 8:20 PM EST, SNF

Bears DL Nick Williams – spent most of three seasons with the Chiefs after being plucked off the Steelers practice squad in November 2014. He was released by the team in October 2016, had a stint in Miami, before signing with the Bears last offseason. Entered the league as a Steelers seventh-rounder in 2013.

Bears QB Chase Daniel – spent three seasons as Alex Smith’s backup in Kansas City between 2013 and 2015, and even started two games in place of an injured Smith. He then had stints in Philly and New Orleans before signing with the Bears in 2018.

Bears LB Kevin Pierre-Louis – spent the 2017 season with the Chiefs after being traded away by the Seahawks, who drafted him in the fourth round in 2014, in the offseason. He had a two-year stint with the Jets before signing with the Bears this offseason.

The Fuller brothers, Chiefs Kendall and Bears Kyle – not so much revenge as a reunion between two brothers who play cornerback. People like revenge games, but a nice family reunion can warm a guy’s heart

CowboysCowboys vs. EaglesEagles, 4:25 PM EST

Cowboys DE Michael Bennett – spent the 2018 season with the Eagles after being traded from the Seahawks in the offseason. He was then traded to the Patriots a year later before being traded to the Cowboys in October.

BengalsBengals vs. DolphinsDolphins, 1:00 PM EST

Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick – spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons with the Bengals after being traded from the Rams before the 2007 season. He then started 12 games in 2008 in place of an injured Carson Palmer.

Bengals OT Isaiah Prince – entered the league as a sixth-round pick of the Dolphins this year and even started two games before being waived in December and claimed by Cincy.

Bengals CB Torry McTyer – spent two seasons with the Dolphins after entering the league with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He was waived before this season, spent time on the Chiefs practice squad, and later signed off by the Bengals.

LionsLions vs. BroncosBroncos, 4:05 PM EST

Lions K Matt Prater – spent eight seasons as the Broncos kicker from 2007 to 2014 before being released in October 2014. He was then signed by the Lions and has been their kicker since.

Lions OT Dan Skipper – spent a little over a month on the Broncos practice squad in 2018

RavensRavens vs. BrownsBrowns, 1:00 PM EST

Ravens QB Robert Griffin III – spent the 2016 season with the Browns, starting five games.

Ravens LB L.J. Fort – entered the league as a Browns UDFA and played in all 16 games as a rookie. He was cut before the 2013 season.

PanthersPanthers vs. ColtsColts, 1:00 PM EST

Panthers CB T.J. Green – entered the league as a second-round pick of the Colts in 2016. He spent two seasons in Indy before being waived before the 2018 season. He signed with the Seahawks in October 2018, but left the team due to lack of desire to play football. He returned to the league with the Saints in the 2019 offseason, bouncing between the active roster and the practice squad early in the season before being waived earlier this week and was claimed by the Panthers just a few days ago.

Panthers DE Mario Addison – spent a calendar year with the Colts after being claimed in November 2011. He was waived in October 2012 and spent time on the practice squad before being plucked by the Redskins. Eventually joined Panthers later that season and has been with the team since.

Panthers P Michael Palardy – spent nine days with the Colts in the 2016 offseason
