The Bears are buying?

Week 8’s Angry Run winner on GMFB was a member of the Steelers, and now the scepter will be sent to Chicago.
Third-year receiver Chase Claypool was traded to the Bears for a second-round pick.
It’s been an interesting career for the 2020 third-round pick. He shined as a rookie, notably his four touchdown game in Week 4. He had an underwhelming sophomore season, and hasn’t been able to get it going in 2022.
The Steelers over the last decade have done a great job at drafting and developing receivers, especially in the mid-rounds. They let JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Washington walk this offseason, and extended Diontae Johnson as their WR1. Then they did it again with taking George Pickens in the second round this year, continuing the trend. With the emergence of the rookie, it made Claypool expendable, and got a second round pick in return, which will probably be used for a wide receiver in next year’s draft.
For the Bears, it’s about getting rid of veteran defensive players, and building up that offense. The Bears receivers are very weak with Darnell Mooney and Equanimeous St. Brown, but Claypool is a great compliment and can easily be the new WR1 for Justin Fields.
Another great deal for both sides. Claypool gets a fresh start to be the top guy in Chicago, who get a young controllable piece, and Pittsburgh gets a second-round pick.
