Analysis: The second-worst draft class of 2020 was a rough one. Following the departure of Jack Conklin signing with the Browns, there was a big vacancy at right tackle. Holding the 29th pick after losing in the AFC Championship as the No. 1 seed, the Titans selected Isaiah Wilson. He was placed on the COVID list at the start of training camp, then placed again before the season, arrested for a DUI, then suspended by the team in December, and placed on the non-football illness list, and only played three offensive snaps. He was arrested again for speeding in January, then traded to the Dolphins for a swap of seventh-round picks in March, then cut three days later for showing up late and missing his physical and workouts. He then spent most of the 2021 season on the Giants practice squad, and has been out of football since. Just an absolute disaster from the start. You would’ve thought these character concerns would’ve been handled, but he was just a lost cause and the Titans just straight up wasted a first-round pick on a position of need, and haven’t fully recovered since.
Kristian Fulton in the second round was not a bad pick. With 37 starts in four seasons, Fulton’s been a below average to average starter, but has missed 30 games over those four seasons with various injuries,
Darrynton Evans hasn’t been anything more than a backup and practice squadder bouncing around five teams. Larrell Murchison dealt with injuries early, then was cut and caught on with the Rams and became a rotational interior defensive lineman. Cole McDonald didn’t make it past the preseason, attempted to make the Cardinals roster, and has spent time in the CFL and XFL. Chris Jackson spent three years with Tennessee, and started six games, but had a lot of injuries and has since signed with the USFL.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhene has developed into a solid WR3/4 who’ll finish with around 400 yards every year. If there’s a team looking for depth, the former UDFA can provide.
