A very typical Seahawks draft with a bunch of guys no one viewed highly, but they turned into solid players.
Jordyn Brooks wasn’t viewed as a round one prospect but was thrust into the starting lineup early and turned into an above average starter. He led the league in solo tackles in 2021, and has been among the league leaders in that category. With 55 career starts, Brooks got his fifth-year option declined, but the league is starting to realize the value of middle linebackers, so he will get paid.
Darrell Taylor missed his rookie season with injury but turned his career on the last three seasons with seasons of 6.5, 9.5, and 5.5 sacks in 49 games and 13 starts.
Damien Lewis was named the Week 1 starting guard as a rookie, and has held a starting job all four seasons with 61 career starts. Colby Parkinson has carved a nice role as a backup tight end with four career touchdowns. DeeJay Dallas has stuck around as a key player on offense and special teams his four seasons. Only two career starts, but Dallas is a proven solid backup and has been their primary punt and kick returner.
Alton Robinson had four sacks as a rookie, but only one the following year. He missed 2022 with injury and was released the following offseason. Freddie Swain was a bottom depth chart guy before a 2022 release, and has since spent time with the Dolphins and Broncos. Stephen Sullivan spent his rookie year on the practice squad, but was re-signed and spent the next three years with the Panthers.
